Dr. Mara Padilla Evangelista-Huber delivered two lectures at the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center Department of Dermatology’s 17th Postgraduate Course, with the added challenge of being almost 7 months pregnant.
Her first lecture discussed systemic drug selection in special populations, a challenging topic focusing on medical dermatology and dermatopharmacology. She talked about what oral drugs are safe for pregnant women, patients with weak immune systems and infections, and those with other illnesses like liver, kidney and heart disease.
Her second lecture was about the role of epidermal lipids on the skin barrier, with special focus on fatty acids. This talk started with biochemistry and ended with clinical application.
Congratulations Dr. Mara for being a sought-after, evidence-based lecturer! Levana Dermatology Clinic is blessed to have you. Congratulations as well to the organizers of the JRRMMC Postgraduate Course!
Dr. Mara was joined by her mom, board-certified dermatologist Dr. Rowena Padilla Evangelista.
