Dr. Mara already inspired many doctors to become better researchers through her example. However for her, inspiration is not enough. What makes her stand out isn’t only her passion for research, but also her desire to educate. Her ultimate dream is to make the Philippines one of the foremost authorities on clinical research. To achieve this, she has delivered more than 200 lectures, written several articles on the conduct of research, served as a judge in research contests, mentored many colleagues — all possible avenues to prepare research papers for international competition or publication. She lectures not only to fellow dermatologists but to doctors of other specialties.
Just recently Dr. Mara was back at her alma mater University of Santo Tomas (UST) to deliver a Clinical Research workshop (13-lecture series) for the Orthopedic Surgery residents of the University of Santo Tomas and Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center.
